Course: ACLS Skills Testing (hands on session)
Price: $100 (does not include the online course)
Online CourseNot included (this means you already purchased the online course directly from the AHA).
CertificationAmerican Heart Association© ACLS. You will receive your ACLS eCard on the day of the class.
Where and When: You can take a skills test with us any day of the week (including Saturdays or Sundays) from 7am to 6pm.

HeartCode Skills Evaluation
The American Heart AssociationⒸ and Central Valley Medical Education now offers RQI/Heart Code hands-on skills testing. Students will skills test with a VAM (Voice Assisted Manikin). During the skills testing, an instructor will not be present, since the manikin and computer will guide you through your skills. You must provide your online completion certifiicate to us before you can attend the skills session. Initial or renewal students can take this ACLS course.

Process
• You register and pay for the skills testing.

• We send you an email with a link to upload your certificate and you choose the date and time.
• We send you a link from RQI1stop for you to set up an account.
• You show up to the classroom and perform your skills testing. You will be sent an email to claim your certification eCard the same day of class.

The computer will guide you through Adult & Infant CPR and two person CPR.

Personnel directly involved in patient care, such as nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and radiologic technicians

HeartCode ACLS Personnel who either direct or participate in adult emergencies, such as emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units

HeartCode 2025 ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Advanced Cardiac Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Advanced Cardiac Life Support training for their clinical duties.

After successfully completing the ACLS Provider Course, students should be able to:

  • Define systems of care
  • Apply the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments sequence for a systematic evaluation of adult patients
  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team (RRT) or medical emergency team (MET) may improve patient outcomes
  • Discuss early recognition and management of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), including appropriate disposition
  • Discuss early recognition and management of stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognize bradycardias and tachycardias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Perform early management of bradycardias and tachycardias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Model effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
  • Recognize respiratory arrest
  • Perform early management of respiratory arrest
  • Recognize cardiac arrest
  • Perform prompt, high-quality BLS including prioritizing early chest compressions and integrating early automated external defibrillator (AED) use
  • Perform early management of cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post–cardiac arrest care
  • Evaluate resuscitative efforts during a cardiac arrest through continuous assessment of CPR quality, monitoring the patient’s physiologic response, and delivering real-time feedback to the team

Learner Objectives

Personnel directly involved in patient care, such as nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and radiologic technicians

HeartCode 2025 BLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties.

After successfully completing the Heart Code Complete BLS Provider Course, students should be able to:

  • Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
  • Describe all of the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize the signs of someone needing CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • Describe the importance of early use of an AED and demonstrate its use
  • Provide effective ventilations by using a barrier device
  • Describe the importance of team dynamics in multi-rescuer resuscitation and perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Describe the technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infant

American Heart Association© Heart Code PALS

Personnel directly involved in patient care, such as nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and radiologic technicians

HeartCode® PALS Online is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Pediatric Advanced Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Pediatric Advanced Life Support training for their clinical duties. HeartCode® PALS Online consists of a cognitive portion that is completed online. A separate psychomotor skills assessment using voice assisted manikins with real-time audio and visual feedback or a skills assessment with an AHA Instructor is required to earn a valid AHA PALS Provider eCard that is valid for two years.

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to

  • Perform high‐quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) recommendations
  • Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
  • Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds
  • Apply team dynamics
  • Differentiate between respiratory distress and failure
  • Perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
  • Differentiate between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
  • Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock
  • Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
  • Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
  • Implement post–cardiac arrest management
